Business VPN

US802.11/America's WiFi

America's WiFi serves the residential community via it's simple wireless access model. Focused on multi-dwelling units (MDUs), America's WiFi can cover apartments, condominums, and other MDUs to provide DSL and Cable comparable services to residents for less cost and better utility to each customer. America's WiFi chose AuthDirect as their backoffice partner because of the system flexibility and ease of administration. These features allow America's WiFi to focus on their business model and customer service rather than managing backoffice servers and software.

Today, America's WiFi reaches thousands of residential units in the Bay Area and much of this success is due to the successful partnership with AuthDirect.

Mohave Broadband

Mohave Broadband is an ISP providing services in the Mohave Valley, AZ area. Mohave Valley is comprised of Ft. Mohave, Mohave Valley, and Needles which is home to approximately 30,000 residents. Although there are DSL and Cable internet services available, the coverage area is spotty.

Responding to the requests of the community, Mohave Broadband committed to provide a wireless Internet service that would extend throughout the community. This service appeared to be straightforward as the area is a flat, desert topology with several towers available for line-of-sight coverage to the residential areas. However, the physical and network requirements were not the most difficult aspect of the project. When the project engineers addressed the requirements for the backoffice systems required to support the service, they determined that the in-house manpower was not adequate to deploy and maintain such systems. They then turned to AuthDirect.

They quickly discovered how the AuthDirect service would integrate with the hardware they had already purchased and the network they had designed. In addition, they were happy to find out that the AuthDirect system allowed them to design their own custom branding on all the service web pages, so they could control the end-user experience.

Once they installed the equipment in the towers and configured it to operate with AuthDirect’s Tollbooth system, they spent about one hour building their branding, service plans, and initial user accounts. They then tested the service and confirmed that is was running as configured.

Owner of Mohave Broadband, Tim Umphress stated “With the TollBooth service, we were able to setup our service quickly and we even tracked usage that same day! I’m very impressed with their service.”

Airport Network Solutions - Sacramento International Airport

Airport Network Solutions (ANS) recognized early on that airports are complex environments with multiple constituencies ranging from the traveling public to airlines and the TSA. ANS required a solution that was flexible enough to handle the needs of these diverse user groups. In response to these diverse needs, ANS created a multi-purpose model.

This model was a winner for the Sacramento International Airport who was looking for a solution that could equally accommodate their various customer types including: airlines, on-site contractors, public users, and the airport administration. ANS solely focuses on these complex deployments and relies on AuthDirect for their backoffice OSS services.

Today at Sacramento airport, thousands of users enjoy the freedom from the wireless network deployed throughout the entire facility. Airlines use the network to access their corporate systems, contractors use the network to conduct their business while on-site, the airport staff use the network to access their local network resources, and the general public can connect to the public internet during their visit. All these unique demands are serviced via a common wireless network infrastructure supported by the AuthDirect Tollbooth system.
